As a Verification and Integration Engineer your knowledge of test method development, measurement system analysis, data acquisition and test fixture design, and verification strategy will ensure that BD products meet the high standards of our customers and protect the safety of their patients. Qualifications

Education

BS degree (MS preferred) in mechanical engineering or bioengineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Experience

· Minimum of 3 years of test fixture and data acquisition system development including electromechanical design experience and programming experience

· Test method development and validation including identification and control of sources of variation and measurement system analysis (MSA)

· Application of statistical techniques including design of experiments (DOE), regression, inferential statistics and stochastic modeling.

· Experience with vision systems design and programming is preferred

· Hands on-experience operating and programming of material test equipment such as Instron tensile and torque testers, flowrate equipment, etc.

· Minimum 3 years of product development or product engineering, medical device experience strongly preferred

· Operation and programming of contact and non-contact metrology equipment

Skills

* Test Fixture and Test Method Development
* Solid modeling of parts and large assemblies (Solidworks preferred)
* Technical writing
* Programming
* Labview and programmable logic controller (PLC) programming to support data acquisition systems
* MS Access database development to support test database development
* Statistical skills
* Proficient in Design of Experiments including design and analysis of screening and surface response DOEs
* Inferential statistics, regression analysis, GR&R and other statistical techniques
* Monte Carlo simulation (Crystal Ball experience preferred).
* Ability to work independently and to mentor others
* Careful, deliberate, disciplined, meticulous, and well organized in documenting plans, requirements, drawings, design reviews, and test methods
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing skills
* Proven ability to quickly learn new subject matter
Skilled problem solver

Knowledge

Knowledge of disciplined product development processes, regulatory and quality requirements such as 21CFR820.30

Responsibilities

· Working as part of a product development or product engineering team to develop and improve medical devices

· Lead role in test method and measurement system development to support customer studies, product development and verification

· Programming of material test equipment such as tensile test machines, torque test machines, flow rate test equipment, etc.

· Lead role in design of experiments for customer research, product requirements development verification, product development and design verification

· Design verification strategy and execution

· Leveraging personal creativity to contribute to the BD intellectual property knowledgebase

· Train and mentor junior associates
