shadow light rhythm

…and here’s my second film : ) started soon after the first, when–while i was discovering imovie to enhance my dragonfly footage in our homestay bedroom–the sun made eye contact with the west window, and was throwing light at the ceiling fan, that chopped it up and threw diced staccato shadows on the opposing wall. an tender example of life’s extraordinary//ordinary brilliance. The footage i capture (with the point and shoot camera) has little effects, some exposure enhancement for sure, but you’d be amazed at how already high-contrast the shadow light rhythms were! That sunset i emptied my memory card 7 times in the 7 minutes before an evening stroll, with all the magic cast on every surface in and outside the house. This film ends with a remarkable scene of a canoe departing the river shore… Both “dragonfly” and this film short were created within two days, from the moment i first pressed the record button on my camera (ever!) to when i was clicking “Export Movie using Quicktime…” for my new creations. I must add (in case you’re making assumptions) that i still had very full, engaged, active days notwithstanding. After shooting the shadows, I walked with Martin, local to Chennamkary, who was a fountain of stories about the rice paddies and river health, fish and birds, Communism and Hinduism, bioremediation and backwaters.     And this is only your second video!?!?! Im really getting scared now……not for or of you, mind…. But for the up and coming and current directors out in the world…. They should really be aware that a force like the one within you would simply RUIN THEIR CAREERS!!! lolol

    This is absolutely gorgeous beyond any words I could try to muster right now.
